Brochure
PEAK offers enrichment and enhanced educational activities for children, ages 6 to 12 years, while providing a safe environment before and after school. By design, the program allows students to build on their self-esteem, foster positive friendships and experience healthy adult-child interactions and role modeling during times that parents are working, in training or otherwise cannot be present to supervise their youth. Through many opportunities to participate in group activities, children are taught shared responsibilities, appropriate communication strategies, conflict resolution/problem solving, and tolerance. The inclusion project exposes children to diversity among their age group while empowering compassion and understanding. The mental health component of the program, the Safety Net Project, provides specialized support for families experiencing stresses beyond the parent's or child's ability to manage well.
PEAK Summer Camp Program offers full time care for children for eight weeks Monday -Friday (July 6 - August 28) with activities and field trips each week. PEAK Summer Program is at Portsmouth Middle School for the first 6 weeks and then Community Campus for the last 2 weeks. Tuition: $158/week if Mon. through Fri. or $37/day (two day minimum).
